Hello. It's the end of another weekend. I'm actually home early today so thought I'd write a blog entry since it's no where near my normal bedtime yet.
Had a really hectic time last week. I did end up clocking 120 hours in the week (which means I had 48 hours the whole week to travel to and from work and sleep). So much for being told in an interview back in Michigan that you can't possibly work 120 hours, "think about it, thats not possible". I'll give that idiot a good kick if I can remember who it was.
Went for Matthew and Bern's wedding yesterday. Reached church a little late because I was late out of a conference call in the morning. It was actually the first church wedding that I have ever attended. The words which I only dreamt of but never heard. It was a beautiful event.
Needless to say, dashed back to work and another meeting until it was time for the wedding dinner. A pretty nice affair but I was a little too tired at that point in time. In Matthew and Bern's speech after their toast, they thanked lots of people. Their parents, their family, their friends and.... to those who couldn't join us thaat day, their uncle and Pat. I froze. I didn't dare turn or move my head away from the stage. I was afraid the tears would roll down my face if I did. The last straw really came when the band (which did a great job by the way), started playing Love, Me by Colin Raye. Memories flooded in like nobody's business. I had to get away from the table. I wasn't drinking because I was heading back to work after the dinner. I guess I changed my mind. The red wine was pretty good. Don't get me wrong. It wasn't painful memories, it was lots of happy ones. Just that the realization again that Pat is no longer here physically becomes a little overwhelmingly frightening at times. If you didn't know, Pat meant a lot to me. Why is everyone always so touchy about that? Just miss her, thats all.
I went back to the office and finished my comps at around 4 plus before heading home. Fun stuff (which I'm sure no one believes). I'm not kidding, it really is.
To Matthew and Bern, I sincerely wish you a happy, blissful and blessed marriage, forever.
Best wishes,
Wilson
