A very happy lunar new year once again and a kinda over-due happy valentines / friendship day to one and all. Hope this will be a great year for everyone. Been pretty inconsistent with my blogging efforts this semester. Largely attributed to my heavy workload, and of course, plain laziness.
Work has been piling up (once again). With two midterms coming up this week: International Finance tomorrow and Corporate Law on Wednesday, it's gonna be one hell of a week again. Nonetheless, there's light at the end of the tunnel. Spring break is here in less than a week! Woohoo! Grand Canyon, here I come! Will be leaving for Phoenix on Friday morning and will only be back the following Sunday. Gosh I'm so excited just thinking about trekking down into the canyon, camping out once again away from cell phones, internet, TV, everything.
Okay now, time to stay focused. Just a brief update, had chinese new year celebrations last Saturday at Trotter House. Pretty decent job of organizing and putting together the steamboat dinner by the committee, so props to them. The rest of the week was alright; burning the midnight oil and all. The usual. Continued camping out in b-school until Thursday, when I finally went to collect my laptop from a useless DHL delivery service. They came to our house and said no one answered the doorbell when both me and Jeff were at home. Idiots. In any case, I finally have my new laptop now. I'm really happy with my purchase. Fully loaded Dell XPS M1330. Only complaint is the slightly warm palm-rest area when using the laptop, but in essence, it looks beautiful and works perfect. Vista needs getting used to, but I guess I can adapt my shortcuts to it. Thankfully, my old copy of Office 2003 works fine on my new comp. Phew. I would have gone crazy if I had to use shitty Office 2007.
Other updates: my family had an awesome Chinese New Year, especially all the kids who hung out every day, playing at all the houses which the family congregated in, had good food, lots of fun and lots of late-night movie outings. Wish I was there, and I'm sure Kendrew feels the same way too. I'll be back next year! Also went to catch some friends perform (and organize) the MAC fest yesterday at Rackham with a friend. Great job on the solo Joseph, awesome job as a host Michael, hilarious as ever. Oh, and I spent v-day (Thursday) with a bunch of 5 guys (of which, 4 are single, and 1 whose girlfriend is in the UK) at Kai Garden. Great good and company. Haha, I guess, many more of such to come eh? Bachelor's dinner as always. Another little happiness, Clara could be coming for my graduation in April! Yay! Delighted that she could possibly make it. Can also take a short trip up to Canada in the time she's here. It'll be awesome! Niagara Falls and Toronto. I'm psyched!
Alright, that's all for now. Wish me luck for my midterms. Stay warm guys.
P.S. The weather has been disgusting here for the most part; hovering between -20 degree Celsius and -30 with wind chill on a daily basis.
