You Raise Me Up - Josh Groban

A nice song when you're taking a breather.

Yes, I know when this song was played. I'm fine.

New Year, New Colors (?)

Decided that a new year deserves new colors, so here you go. Maybe I'll tweak it a little when I have the time. In the meanwhile, this should suffice.

By the way, the weather today is awesome! It's 5 degrees, I would go running in singlet and shorts if I had the time.

Update (12:31AM, February 18, 2007): Switched it back. Black suits me better.

Happy Lunar New Year and V-Day (and some updates)

A very happy lunar new year once again and a kinda over-due happy valentines / friendship day to one and all. Hope this will be a great year for everyone. Been pretty inconsistent with my blogging efforts this semester. Largely attributed to my heavy workload, and of course, plain laziness.

Work has been piling up (once again). With two midterms coming up this week: International Finance tomorrow and Corporate Law on Wednesday, it's gonna be one hell of a week again. Nonetheless, there's light at the end of the tunnel. Spring break is here in less than a week! Woohoo! Grand Canyon, here I come! Will be leaving for Phoenix on Friday morning and will only be back the following Sunday. Gosh I'm so excited just thinking about trekking down into the canyon, camping out once again away from cell phones, internet, TV, everything.

Okay now, time to stay focused. Just a brief update, had chinese new year celebrations last Saturday at Trotter House. Pretty decent job of organizing and putting together the steamboat dinner by the committee, so props to them. The rest of the week was alright; burning the midnight oil and all. The usual. Continued camping out in b-school until Thursday, when I finally went to collect my laptop from a useless DHL delivery service. They came to our house and said no one answered the doorbell when both me and Jeff were at home. Idiots. In any case, I finally have my new laptop now. I'm really happy with my purchase. Fully loaded Dell XPS M1330. Only complaint is the slightly warm palm-rest area when using the laptop, but in essence, it looks beautiful and works perfect. Vista needs getting used to, but I guess I can adapt my shortcuts to it. Thankfully, my old copy of Office 2003 works fine on my new comp. Phew. I would have gone crazy if I had to use shitty Office 2007.

Other updates: my family had an awesome Chinese New Year, especially all the kids who hung out every day, playing at all the houses which the family congregated in, had good food, lots of fun and lots of late-night movie outings. Wish I was there, and I'm sure Kendrew feels the same way too. I'll be back next year! Also went to catch some friends perform (and organize) the MAC fest yesterday at Rackham with a friend. Great job on the solo Joseph, awesome job as a host Michael, hilarious as ever. Oh, and I spent v-day (Thursday) with a bunch of 5 guys (of which, 4 are single, and 1 whose girlfriend is in the UK) at Kai Garden. Great good and company. Haha, I guess, many more of such to come eh? Bachelor's dinner as always. Another little happiness, Clara could be coming for my graduation in April! Yay! Delighted that she could possibly make it. Can also take a short trip up to Canada in the time she's here. It'll be awesome! Niagara Falls and Toronto. I'm psyched!

Alright, that's all for now. Wish me luck for my midterms. Stay warm guys.

P.S. The weather has been disgusting here for the most part; hovering between -20 degree Celsius and -30 with wind chill on a daily basis.

新年快乐

祝大家新年快乐,身体健康,新年心想事成.

It's been a really hectic, and bordering on catastrophic new year's eve and I would say, thankfully quiet transition into new year's day for me. In case any of you are wondering, yes I'm in the b-school at 12:40am on the first day of Lunar New Year.

Pretty quiet here in the b-school at this hour. I had classes from 7pm to 10pm earlier on and am preparing for my 8:30am class tomorrow. Brilliant eh? Don't I just love school.

Had less than 2 hours of sleep since Tuesday. Dealing with stuff and didn't really have any chance to rest at all. Full day of school today. "Reunion dinner" was *ahem* chilli dog from the b-school vending machine with bottled apple juice (from the same source). Fun times. (Drat, this is all my laptop's fault.)

Chinese New Year was always one of my favorite holidays of the year, especially the chance to hang out with my cousins and see my grandma, uncles and aunts. Not to mention fabulous food and endless reunions in everyone's houses. A little bummed out and exhausted this year from all that happened in the past two days.

Oh well... practice makes perfect. Minimal sleep, maximum output. Back to work. Best wishes for the lunar new year everyone.

Goodbye, IBM Thinkpad

It's been some time. So, my trusty IBM finally decided that it had worked enough for the past three and half years and finally decided to die on me. Was forced to abandon it and immediately went to scour for a new laptop. You have no idea how miserable or troublesome life can be without a laptop for school or non-school purposes. A little nostalgic since that was my first ever laptop and it's been with me through arguably the most eventful years of my life.

Anyways, after a ton of research, I bought and paid for a Dell XPS M1330 today. It came fully loaded (like really fully loaded up to it's maximum current specifications) with a huge discount, on top of the student discount. Only down-side is that it will take quite some time to arrive. Thus, majority of my weekend was burnt in the library and business school; mostly working on cases and the rest of the time, using the computers here for work or just to chat with friends.

Other miscellaneous stuff, I did lunch with Shuying and Ming today at Great Lakes. Haven't had dim sum in quite awhile, so that was a good time. Good food and fun company is always awesome. Also had the chance to catch up with some friends in Singapore whom I haven't chat with in quite awhile, so that was a plus this weekend.

The biggest bummer this weekend was the Patriot's loss about an hour ago to the Giants. Sigh... Their perfect season, the perfect ending, the unprecedented undefeated season record, the superbowl, all lost in one night. I would almost put this on par, or even a bigger upset than Appy State's win over us in our season opener in 2007. Patriots offensive line was totally trash today. Caused Tom Brady to be hit and sacked countless times. Ah well, shit happens.

All in all, it has been a decent weekend, except for my failed laptop and the Patriots' loss. For friends and family who are fighting shit on their own fronts wherever you guys are, jiayou and know that you can always come look me up if there was ever the need. Take care guys. Until then, hello to another week of madness in my final semester.

好想。。。

I've been swamped with work lately. Been working pretty fervently at cases and homeworks and readings the entire weekend, and the whole of today. Really should be doing that now but in exhaustion, or just my subconsciousness kicking in, mind ground to a halt.

好想跟你说话。。。

还真的累了。
